JESUS THE PROTOTYPE FOR SONS OF GOD .5.

Obedience…….part 5 of 5

Though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him. Hebrews 5:8-9

Jesus had to learn obedience. Jesus had to be perfected before He could become the author of our eternal salvation. Our obedience is part and parcel to our salvation . . . to all who obey Him.

Not everyone who says to Me, “Lord, Lord,” shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Matthew 7:21 Why do you call Me “Lord, Lord,” and not do the things which I say? Luke 6:46
Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror, for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty (Jesus Christ) and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. James 1:22-25
He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked. I John 2:4-6
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God. Galatians 2:20-21
In Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, “For we are also His offspring.” Acts 17:28
Jesus was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honour. We (sons of God) have been made a little lower than the angels, crowned with glory and honor, and set over the works of God’s hands.
He has put all things in subjection under our feet. For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him. But we see Jesus. We are in the process of becoming, and He is not ashamed to call us brethren. (See Hebrews 2:5-11.)

Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God!
Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. I John 3:1-3

The earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. Romans 8:19
NB! Creation is not waiting for those having received Christ to become sons, but rather that the sons be revealed as sons.

Conclusion:

Four keys: (1) No Reputation. (2) Bondservants. (3) Humble. (4) Obedient. Sonship requires a daily dying to selfand a daily consecration to the life of Christ within.
When we abide in Him, and He in us, His Spirit leads us into all truth. As we make ourselves of no reputation, take the form of bondservants, humbling ourselves and becoming obedient, we begin to walk out God’s intention for giving us life.
And, we begin to glorify our Father in our world.

Blessings.
